I Never Loved You Anyway

by dandy   Dec 14, 2006

I don't miss you holding me.
I've lost it, but I don't care.
I don't miss your fingers
gently tangled in my hair.

The way you kissed my forehead,
and your soft lips right on mine.
It never meant that much to me,
it was just a waste of time.

All the dates that we went on,
all the songs that we danced to.
All the moments, laughs and jokes we shared,
not once did I think we could be true.

First date, first prom, first for many things,
All of it was too cliche.
You were just something to pass the time,
I never loved you anyway.

Talking on the phone for hours,
sometimes until past one.
The beach, the barn and ice-skating.
I don't miss our stupid fun.

Long conversations about nothing,
and all the plans we had.
Thinking back doesn't hurt that much,
I have yet to feel sad.

The way it ended was just fine,
I was getting bored anyway.
I believe completely what you told me,
but to you I have nothing to say.

Just one more thing before I go,
I can play the same game as you.
If you believe anything in this poem is true,
think again...

Girls lie too

A great poem! Thoroughly enjoyed this write. You have a great use of words, like saying 'tangled in my hair' instead of 'running through my hair.' Tangled creates an image and a feeling. Love your work!

This was a wonderfuly written poem! I like the way you acted like you did not care. Yet you can feel the underlieing pain. Excellent job!
