The Wonders That Vanished

by Raychil   Dec 15, 2006

What person wouldn't give
To have but just one look
At the beautiful Hanging Gardens
That mother nature took

What person wouldn't wish
To have truly seen the place
Where the Blue Ishtar Gate once stood
And people Marveled at its grace

What person wouldn't desire
To see that light house on a hill
That Alexander the great himself,
To protect it would gladly kill

What person wouldn't strive
To see the Colossus of Rhodes
The statue standing tall
With the arrows that it holds

What person wouldn't want
To see that marble sight
The Mausoleum of Maussollos
That once gleamed in the light

And what person wouldn't dream
Of these great sights to see
That vanished with the stories
And became just mysteries..

This is a really great poem. The things that are lost that we would love to see. You brought this to light. Excellent!
