The Moment

by Colby   Dec 17, 2006

I sat on the bench in the corner
staring at you watching you, dance
but you didn't know,

It was then the music stopped
and I looked up at you in the distance
but didn't move,

Looking around seeing others asking to dance
and it was then I wiped the tears away
and stood up,

Walked over to you and you turned around
and I stared at your in the eyes
and asked to dance,

You said yes grabbing a hold of me
I put my arms around you
and felt the warmth branch off you,

The song was long but joyful
as we got closer together
and your head rested on my shoulder,

I put my head down to yours
smelling the warm rose smell
of your hair,

Whispering in your ear
"I want to let you know, I love you"
you pulled me closer,

The song stopped
and the lights turned on
I wished the moment would repeat its self,

I then said good bye
and knew that the moment would come again
though sooner then before.
