I Remember When

I remember when you held me in your arms, so loving and so strong
I remember when you comforted me, when anything was wrong
I remember the feeling that I had, when looking in your eyes
I remember when we didn't agree, we always compromised
I remember saying I would love you, forever and a day
I remember when I left, after you asked me to please stay
I remember never loving someone, the way I once loved you
When I said I'd always love you, that part remains so true
I've missed your love every day, since we've been apart
I need you back so I can have, the other pieces of my heart

    I loved this, it is one of my favourite poems on the site.
    So sad, but beautifully written and something I can relate to.
    The flow and rhyme scheme worked very well, and the wording was a pleasure to read.
