Petals

by Alissa   Dec 23, 2006

The flower sat gently beside her,
she glanced at it quickly but turned.
The light seemed to flow into the petals,
like it was sent from the heavens.

"Maybe it was" slowly she whispered,
thinking of who had given it.
Letting the memories flood her mind,
memories that were always there.

A flower was sent everyday,
one that would last a life time.
Never could she explain it,
the love she felt for him.

As the light flowed into the petals,
like a dream flowing in your heart.
She thought of him, remembering all.
Never letting go.

Never had they seen,
never had they met.
But love was greater still,
than those who all regret.

She picked the flower in her hand,
and let it gently lay.
The scent was strong and sweet,
just like the love she had for him.
