Dream Love

Every night I ask myself
Why do I stare up at the stars?
Wasting time just zoning out
Wondering where you are.

Waiting for you to rescue me
To take me away with you.
Away from the pain, away from regret
Away from the torment too.

My heart needs to heal
It's been hurt too many times.

Isn't helping with the crimes.

I try to keep from falling.

The calling that tells me that you are coming
To help brighten up my day.
The calling that sends the news to me

To hear you say my name.
To be in the arms of the one I love
Who knows how to get rid of all the pain.

But then I wake up and realize
That none of it is true.
You're not real, you're in my head
Forever you'll stay there glued.

All the love and joy I felt
Ended up being just me.
