You almost slipped through

by j r harris   Dec 28, 2006

I had you in the palm of my hand
but i almost let you slip through like sand
i was blind and foolish to think i could play you
but you gave me another chance and i am doing what i can as a man to repay you.
i saw you as a gem in my crown
but now here i am before you humble to the ground.
through patience you showed me that it was you to be praised.
im no longer trying to be a player these days
as i did in the old
you almost slipped away and life was far too cold.
a mistake like that i will never again make.
you never left me and for that i give many thanks!

Nice job! The feelings of fogiveness for something done wrong are very special.
