Ban of brothers

by Joe Moore   Mar 28, 2004

From the depths of the concrete jungle
we formed a bond complete
siblings in poverty
no place to sleep
no food to eat

struggles that some see as atrocious
our antics to survive to us precocious
never forsaken the bond that cares
never forgetting the world that declares

our systematic rise
to hoodlum and the streets
never caring for those
we had to cheat

our condition a true tragedy
that kills our sanity
that em brews our vanity
that embodies our calamity

thugged out
drugged out
mind on a ferris wheel

put down
to stay down
genocide make us steal

few are true to the street creed
our hardships belong to one another
we are born a different breed
so we cling to this ban of brothers
