Familiar Friend

by Tara Auburn   Jan 3, 2007

As I walk on this familiar road, it becomes a little strange to me.
This area that used to feel like home to me seems like a whole new world now.
Not knowing where I am going I wonder around alone.
However, like always you are the friend that is always there to guide me.
You pick me up off this strange road and new world, and bring me back to where I belong.
Back in to the comfort of your arms, where there is always security in your hold.
The friendship between us has never changed, and always feels right.
Although, this time as you take me in, it all feels different to me.
You hold me tighter today as you take me in, and in disbelief, it feels good to me.
You took me in, and kept me from getting lost in this strange world, but our friendship is forever changed by your hold of me tonight.
