I Bet

by Yham   Jan 8, 2007

I bet you'd forget in some months time
Infatuations and crushes of secrecy prime
I bet you'll be first to overcome me
To accept the inevitable, unfair reality
I bet you'll hate me for everything I've done
For all my misdoings, my heart you hadn't won
I bet I'm just an old woman in your eyes
Just a bleak memory of precious heartaches and cries
I bet it was easier when I was far away
When we weren't so close, so apart everyday
I bet you think I'm playing a game
But I burn for your touch and I call out your name
I bet you'll be first to say enough, just stop
Just like the time when I sat on your lap
I bet you'll never know my real feelings for you
But it subtly shows in everything I do
I bet you'll give in to your feelings suppressed
Then I'll pine for your kisses, more yearning possessed
And when we say our goodbyes, I bet you won't see the tears
But I'll bet my heart won't be the same throughout the years.
