I was ready to give up.
Didn't believe it was true.
I didn't know what was coming.
I didn't have a clue.

A blessing from the lord
A gift from up above.
Sent down to earth
For someone like me to love.

Given to me by God,
an angel from the sky.
I didn't even stop
to ask God why.

He gave me someone to love
Someone that I could hold
Someone that I would treasure
Even when I turn old.

This gift I will hold on to
