Left Behind

by Brian   Jan 11, 2007

Disillusioned by life
we fall through the cracks
and are lost to the memories of time
no control over life
or the way that we feel
our thoughts no longer our own

The tears gently fall
down sad, tired faces
to pool like blood at our feet

For so slowly in time
the days pass to months
with no end of this pain or sorrow
just memories of life
from a past long ago
to send us slowly insane

We're the ones left behind
through no fault of our own
with failure etched deep on our hearts
for they just walked away
the ones that we loved
not thinking of what stayed behind
