We Are Vampires

by Vanessa Brooks   Jan 15, 2007

Feeling the sun singe my skin,
Blisters bubbling up,
Hoping night will soon begin,
I'm hungry, I want to suck.

Pulling the curtains together,
Blocking out the light,
I know I'll live forever,
Gathering blood at night.

Been here for centuries,
Everything always changes.
Collected tons of memories,
But my age never ranges.

One of the immortal ones,
Forever earth's slave.
One of the wicked ones,
No ones soul can I save.

A fantasy in one's mind,
But real in another,
A breed of a different kind,
No blood's different than the other.

Never time to remember names.
Taste of blood is all I need,
With the puncture of my fangs,
In your blood, I plant my seed.

Making another, just like me,
Changing them into a biter,
Making another to go with me,
On a blood-spree all nighter.

OoOo! I haven't seen a good vampire poem in ages! This is great!
The flow was almost fluid like and just seemed effortless. You did an excellent job on this!
