Ga.boy

by Joe Moore   Jan 21, 2007

One summer night
i heard my brother say
he was leaving us here
and go and make his stake

he couldn't take the pines
or the kudzu vines
or yellow jackets and bulldogs
fussing all the time

he said the Falcons were sorry
and the Hawks were no Good
thought the Aquarium and the dome
were in the wrong neighborhood

i said if you have to leave
then do what you must do
cause I'm a thrasher fan
and A-Town Brave Thru and Thru

I'm a Ga. boy
and i love this place
there's no where else
with such style and grace
I've dropped fishing line
in Alabama
Drank Hurricanes
in Louisiana
I've pledged allegiance in
Washington D.C.
sipped bourbon whiskey in
Tennessee
but theres no other place
i really enjoy
cause I'm a thoroughbred raised
GA. Boy

I like bass fishing in
Stone mountain park
petting alligators in
Okefenokee swamp

have you seen the dip at
Tallulah Gorge
or raced Peachtree St.
In a Souped up Ford

If you find a place thats
better than here
i still couldn't leave the
cheers at Turner field.

I'm a Ga. boy
and i love this place
theres no where else
with such style and grace
I've dropped fishing line in
Alabama
Drank hurricanes in
Louisiana
I've pledged allegiance in
Washington D.C.
Sipped bourbon whiskey n
Tennessee
theres no other place i
really enjoy
cause I'm a thoroughbred raised
Ga. boy
