Why Is It Daddy?

by Shay   Jan 23, 2007

Why is it daddy, that no matter what I do
Iâ??ll never measure up be good enough for you
Why is it daddy you belittle everything I do
Even my hardest tries never perfect, I'll admit that's true

You always told me to force a smile even when down
It's kind of hard to smile when every thought is suicidal
But you never seemed to care what I was hiding deep down there
I might have start to been better of if you had seemed to care
But you never seemed to care

Why is it daddy, that no matter what I do
I'll never measure up be good enough for you
Why is it daddy, that you always have to argue with me?
Why is it daddy, that I cry oh so regularly?
What's so wrong if I cry?

You always told me not to cry the world didn't need
To be weighed down by one more girl's selfish greed
Is it so wrong for me to admit that I have feelings too
Is it so difficult to believe I get hurt just like you do
Maybe I have feelings too

Why is it daddy, that no matter what I do
I'll never measure up be good enough for you
Why is it daddy you belittle everything I do
Even my hardest tries never perfect, I'll admit that's true
But maybe I have feelings too
