Still Beautiful.

by Phoebe   Jan 24, 2007

"What's the problem?" he asked,
Cupping her pretty face,
"Nothing," she whispers sadly,
Her tears dropping with grace.

Inside she screams the words,
She has forever longed to say,
But when it's time, she freezes,
She's not good enough anyway.

"Don't take your eyes off me," she said
"I'm too afraid to look back,
Stop staring at my face,
You might notice what I lack."

"How can I stop staring," he said,
"When your face holds so much beauty,
And whenever I see your smile,
I feel happiness within me."

She runs from his words, and thinks
"I cant believe you today,"
He follows her, and thinks,
"I'll try again tomorrow."

But when the next day comes,
And he arrives upon her door,
He sees the note written for him,
"I ran till I couldn't run anymore"

He runs down to her favorite place,
And finds her body, so weak,
He takes her in his arms and says
"You're still beautiful to me."
