In Reality She is...Me

by Paige Whalen   Jan 25, 2007

A girl walks through her school
Not really seeing, not really caring
She doesn't see her friends waving
Because all she sees is his face

She walks alone thinking shes the fool
Because as she cries people are staring
But they don't know that it's his love she's craving
And that's why the tears are flowing down her face

She thinks she's stupid for
Falling in love with someone knowing they won't love her back
She knows there is no use trying
And that's why she keeps going back to him

She goes home to her room and locks her door
And she lays on the floor knowing it's just fact
That as long as she keeps loving him she will keep on dying
And that all she will ever be to him is a friend

She continues to lay on the floor
And as the tears start to flow more freely
she thinks back to when she told him earlier that day
About her true feelings for him

She told that she loved him from her core
And as she kept talking the words flowed more freely
But all he did was tell her it was an infatuation and brushed her away
So she hung her head in defeat and strode away from him

And as she lays there her dad yells "Phone!"
She knows who it is even before he reveals the name
He comes to her door and knocks times three
And just as she predicted he told her it was Chris

She tells him " I'm not home."
She knows Chris is playing a game
Because he knows he hurt her so hes only calling to see
How bad he damaged her as she cries in lonely bliss

She falls asleep on the floor
Crying herself into oblivion filled with so much pain
Her dreams filled with scenes of him
In reality she is...me

*Dedicated to all the people out there who have had the guts to tell the person they love how they feel about them but were shot down*
