An Angel's Dream

by Alissa   Jan 26, 2007

Flying as high as the stars,
watching the world go round.
Yet with all this beauty,
I feel empty.

I have asked god to give me,
the love that all angels dream of.
He told me to wait,
I needed someone amazing.

Over seas and around mountains,
I knew I had to go.
There was something inside,
just calling my name.

As I searched for this love,
there was a dim glow below.
I opened my eyes and saw him.
I closed my wings, and let myself go.

Down I fell, falling in love.
my feathers broke and wings gone.
I watched him, waiting.
Waiting, just waiting.

As he turned, he almost saw,
but I was swept away by god.
I asked why he had taken me away
his answer was vague but true.

He had looked at me with a smile,
"this young man has to learn,
to love himself to own an angel.
To see his beauty, to see yours."

So I wait for him to see,
to see how wonderful he is.
So soon enough.
He will realize.

He will see the glimpse he had,
of the angel that's set.
To love him to the moon.
To love him forever.
