The angelic devil

His darkened face burns her skin and she no longer speaks
And as he walks across the fire her body feels so weak

For she knows now he does not love her and he never will
And as he reaches her tortured body she knows she will be killed

So she waits in agony as she stares into his hazel eyes
Forcing herself not remember the days he didnt make her cry

Yet as she sees his whitened skin against hells bright red lights
She remembers all the good things before the days they started to fight

And shes taken aback as she feels his softened lips against her own
And the butterflies come back as if shes never left their home

Never stopped to wonder what he was doing all the nights he worked late
All the memories before the night she found his love was all too fake

But these soon turn dark as she sees him smiling at her again
Realizing now hes too close and this will be her end

So she softly falls against the fire and feels it burn her heart
For she wont let him kill her, no he cant have this part

Hes done too much already to kill all of her insides
She wont let him have the pleasure of getting to watch her die

And through all this she does not scream even as the flames lick her face
She simply smiles at him and all of his ungodly disgrace

And his eyes slowly soften as he turns from her burning soul
Feeling as if finally hes done what he needed to be whole

For what she never realized was that he loved her so much more
He simply couldnt take the fact he made her heart so sore

So he made himself a liar as he cried at his desk each night
Thinking to himself how much he hated all their fights

How he simply wanted to make her happy and feel her in his arms
Keep her from her misery and keep her from self harm

So he did what he had to do to stop her pain in the end
He knew he had to hide his love and say it was all pretend

And he did, and now shes dead but still this broken angel cries
For although his love his happy now inside he himself does die
