A Wish

by Dark   Jan 27, 2007

That night was one to remember, and I remember it so well
I've reached the end of my ropes, in the past I dwelled.
I had no more to give, no more will to fight.
"Let's make one last wish, one last wish tonight."
That's what ran through my head, as I walked out to my yard.
"I wonder what I'll ask him for...hopefully nothing too hard..."
I sat down and laughed, feeling stupid as time went by.
"If other's can do this though...Guess it couldn't hurt to try."
I wasn't sure what I wanted...but it's rude to keep him waiting.
"Sorry about the delay...Yeah I'm still debating..."
"If I asked for something tonight, would it even come true?
What if it's too complicated, then what would I do?
I don't know what I want...there's so many things on my mind.
Maybe a million dollars, or the ability to stop time..
Those wishes are pretty foolish, there's no way I'll wish for them..
This is my last shot at something, let's make it worth it then."
I sat there for hours...running back and forth in my head.
What do I really want...? Then I took a deep breath and I said...
"I know this may seem weird, but it's what I really need..."
It may be out of reach, but I'll wish and then we'll see.
I need something to help me, or maybe someone just to care.
Someone who'll fight for me, someone who'll just be there...
I guess in simplest terms, what I really want is this...
If you can't make it true, it's okay, it was just a silly wish.."
So I made my wish, I did what I did.
How this'll turn out, we'll leave that up to him.
The next morning was a shock, the day went pretty fast.
Everything was different, but I went back in the past.
Back out in the yard, I sat down once again.
But this time not wish, but to thank the man instead.
Everything was different, because I met you that day.
So he really helped me out, thanks was what I had to say.
The wish I made that night, was outta reach, but it came true.
I asked him to send me an angel...And so he sent me you.
