Priorities

by Ray   Jan 28, 2007

Once I was the classroom nerd,
Never had to study for my A's.
But as I'm sure you've heard,
My priorities have changed.

Once I was the football jock,
Tackling opponents to the ground.
Building muscle, hard as rock,
But now she's turned all that around.

All I wanted was to make the grade,
All I wanted was to make the sack,
But now my priorities have changed,
All I want is to have her back.

The woman who holds my heart
Has fled my arms and sight.
Feels as though I'm torn apart
Beneath an eternal night.
I have failed as Romeo,
Juliet has left my side.
I have failed as Cyrano,
My Roxanne has taken hie.

Ah, but when she returns
I'll never let her go.
As hot as this passion burns
I have to let her know.
Holding her in my two arms,
No safer place could she be.
I'd never let her come to any harm,
That's how much she means to me.
