Call Waiting

by Malakian   Jan 31, 2007

She sits by the telephone.
With ringing in her ears.
They never even told her.
He really disappeared.

She sits collecting dust.
She waits day by day.
Waiting for him to call.
Or come back for her,someday.

She never fully understood.
Why he had to leave.
Now she sits alone.
Now she hardly breathes.

Finally they told her.
That he really died.
She did not say a word.
She would not even cry.

It turns out she died too.
With a broken heart.
And when at her funeral.
They say her torn apart.

They wondered if it was right.
That they had to lie.
And in her coffin they could swear.
That they heard her cry.

And now she lays next to him.
But only their corpses lay.
For her ghost was still waiting.
He finally came back that day.

As they reunited the people heard-
A ringing in their ears.
The two ghosts only smiled.
And then they both disappeared.
