Wonders

by Jerri   Feb 6, 2007

Looking in thine eyes
I find myself dreaming
About a time before the cries
And before the screaming.

I think about our past
Wishing it could still be
Wondering why it didn't last
And if it was because of me.

My heart breaks everyday
When my mind wonders onto you
Regreting the words I never did say
And the wrong ones I said to you.

My dreams are a vague memory
Of what is left of us
The happy moments I hold close to me
And the painful ones that have turned to dust.

The eyes are the window to the soul they say
They can not hide the truth
They hold the sorrows of today
And the secrets of our youth.
