I'll Carry On

by dandy   Feb 9, 2007

Took out your picture again today.
Every time I make myself say
"It'll all work out in it's own way"
as another tear falls and my hope continues to decay.

I just can't see how we can be together
during this awful, emotional weather.
When everyone wants to see us break off
and not have any contact, my heart just drops.

We may have brought it on ourselves
but it just isn't fair
that it ended so fast, and now,
with a chance to fix what we've done
it seems that we don't even have a prayer.

Lying awake at night
they ask why I'm still sad.
They don't know,
can't possibly feel
the pain that causes these tears to fall.

I want to be with you but it may not be the time.
Don't want to give up
and have my love's words be without sweet rhyme.

Can't stand to think of you with someone else,
as my heart's love turns to stone.
Not sure if I'll be able to take the day
when another girl calls you her own.

In the mean time
I'll continue to survive,
I'll continue to fight,
fight for my right
to keep on loving you;
'Cause God only knows that's
one thing I don't have a say in anyway.

So I'll keep on praying
as these tears keep on falling.
I'll keep some hope close
as long as your calling.
I'll carry this load
of sadness I'm hauling
until (when and if) the day comes
we find ourselves crawling
back into each others' arms...

Wow this poem is amazing. 5/5. I love it because it talks about how loving someone is causing pain and stuff. And I so know how that feels.
