Ode to Melinda

by Stephen Warren   Feb 10, 2007

I've toured storybook streets in Europe,
Gingerbread homes in serried rows.
I've seen eagles soar at Reelfoot Lake
and sweet cherubs in repose.

I've stared in awe at Mount Ranier
And at Mount Saint Helen's wrath.
I've followed herds of white-tailed deer
Down a silent forest path.

I've shaken hands with Presidents
And with people in distant lands.
I've strolled a secret Florida beach;
Dug my toes in sugared sands.

I've gazed-amazed at wildflower fields
Bejeweled with morning dew.
My most precious, sacred, cherished sight
Will Always and Forever be You.
