Starless Night

by Katie   Feb 19, 2007

She wakes up in the night,
So tired, but she cant sleep,
Wishing that you knew how she feels,
but its a secret she must keep.

She tries to close her eyes,
She tries to rest her head,
But soon tears form behind her eyes,
when she thinks of things she's left unsaid.

You don't talk to her anymore,
You don't tell her when somethings wrong,
You barley say her name,
And you two barley get along.

She tries so hard to change,
But you don't see the way she tries,
You don't see the pain she feels,
when she smiles through her eyes.

She loves you unconditionally,
She would die for you,
But with good reason- you don't believe her,
You doubt her love is true.

Her mind is always racing,
her eyes are always filled with sorrow,
But everyday she tells herself,
"theres always tomorrow."

But tomorrow has come and gone,
And her heart has a permanent break,
So she lays in bed, in the dark,
Grieving over the mistakes she has made.

Then she reaches out and holds you,
And As her world crumbles apart,
She leans over and whispers in your ear-
"I'm sorry for breaking your heart."
