It's not a lie

by Stevie lynn   Feb 23, 2007

They tell me I'm too foolish
to ever be in love.
"you're nothin' but a little girl.
you're far too young."

then why does my heart skip a beat
when i look into his eyes.
why doesn't anyone even see
for so long, I've had him memorized..

he's a sports guy;
soccer and basketball.
He's a fan of Deathcab's songs
i think he could name them all.
he's an amazing boy
born on the sixth of July
and when i say that i love him...
oh it's not a lie.

i tell myself to forget it all
his blue eyes, his wide smile, his sweet kiss.
but it's just too hard to let go of him.
there's so much that i miss.

when we first met,
there was something i didn't understand.
but as i got to know him..
I'm realized: he's more than just a man.

he's into music,
and he can play guitar.
he's the reason i stay up all night
and wish upon a shooting star.
every look that he gives me,
gives me butterflies
and when i say that i love him...
oh it's not a lie.

the tell me I'm too foolish
to ever be in love.
i used to be just a little girl..
but I've grown up.
