I can relate to this, but with my mother instead of my father.

"What hes done in the past doesn't matter to me now
Yeah ill admit he was acting like a clown
But he made up for it by showing he was there
And hell stick by me and always care"

This is sweet, I like your honesty here.

"I had a perfect life at one point
But shit happened and it became tough
Relationships split and it became real rough "

Many people can relate to this stanza.

"I no longer call him a father, but someone I hate "

Again I can relate to this but with my mother, so much anger here.

"Then he came along and it was like fate
He picked me off my feet and showed me I was strong
Made me feel like I was important and that I belonged"

Good flow, it just goes from one word to the next. Good job.

"He might of made mistakes in his life too
But at least he'll be there when I need a hand
I know I can cant on this man "
