A Tase So Sweet

by Fury   Mar 6, 2007

How the taste soothes my mouth
It's sweet and not bitter
A linger
That makes you want more

You finally get a swash of it
Lick your lips
And breathe in deeply
Oh, how it regenerates you
How the energy is soaring;
Heart rate fastens
Eyes widen
Hands clenched
It's the new day.

It may only be your own
But you know
You won't be called a freak,
Tossed into an institution,
Deprived of your only life line.

The room gets cold
Not one smirk of light is passed into it.
You shake and quiver
Face turns white,
Lips turn purple,
Hands grow numb.

One more day
Thousands of years later
You awake in an abandoned building in Germany.
A shaken up little girl
Lying in your arms
Her throbbing artery in her neck
Catching your eye

Many, many years
You’ve finally gotten free
But must kill once more to live.

Canines extended
Lips at the neck
Of the helpless youngster
'Eat! EAT!', running through your mind.
Finally,
The process is finished
The child slipping away
Just as you lick your lips and turn your back.
