Gone

A rose so red
A heart so white
Stars guide me through this endless night

My heart is like lightning to my dry, cold winter
My rose like stones to life’s forbidden pleasures

Love is stronger than death

The pain I feel remains unsaid
We had wished to be wed
Dreams of that day fill me with dread
Those horrid dreams that fill my head

To a rosebush was I led
I almost wish that I had drunk that lead

My heart returns so blue and black
And sleep I do so lack
