The last whisper

I love you
there i said it
but it scared you
looked you had just been hit

Why do you not look at me
is it something i said
is it because i love you
does someone else go through your head?

I ask if you feel the same
you say sure
but your eyes flicker to someone else
could it mean more?

I see who your looking at
your holding her gaze
i suddenly see it
then everything becomes a haze

I turn away
You don't realize
You just look at her
You don't see the tears in my eyes

I walk out the door
you finally see
you call out my name
then you follow me

you catch up with me
and see me crying
you ask whats wrong
i say tell me what your hiding

You look away
and start mumbling
you say it's nothing
thats when i start crumbling

I slap you
and i then i run
you shout after me saying:
It was just a little bit of fun

i run out of school
and stop to think
then i get out a pen and paper
and write in ink:

I forgive you,
but will never look at you again
and i just want you to know
she was my best friend

Then i see a car

and i run

and right before it hits me

i whisper:

I love you
