Spoonful of Sugar

by Romancing the Darker Side   Mar 11, 2007

A spoonful of sugar
Is what you've given me
She walks to the altar
And yet you swear you still love me

A cover-up for everything
Cheating like a fool
Hatred comes out
As we fight a wicked duel

Candy-coated lies
They all lead to denial
I'll wait a bit for the kill
And disregard the trial

Your children scream
They punch, they hit
They know "Mommy" isn't their mother,
They throw a wild fit

Why did you feed me sugar
When I could have had something bitter?
Why didn't you choose me
Over her with glam and glitter?

They say a spoonful of sugar
Makes the medicine go down
But your sweet sugarcane
Only made me frown
