Spoons

Spoons

Wooden spoons are used to mix,
Flour, butter, eggs.
Wooden spoons to spank your kids,
On their chubby legs.

Plastic spoons are hard to use,
When picking something up.
Plastic spoons on airplanes,
Make it hard to sup.

Metal spoons stir coffee well,
Scoop melons and eat broth.
Metal spoons in drawers do wait,
For cappuccino's froth.

All spoons will nest within themselves,
One upon the other.
Their form suggests that they arose,
From a common mother.

Spoons of flesh beneath the sheets,
Have no useful purpose.
Except to hint at how we fit,
Below our shallow surface.
