Beauty of the Snow

by Romancing the Darker Side   Mar 12, 2007

The beauty of the snow
White and new
Flakes flutter to the ground
Taking paths askew

Blankets fall down
In torrential weather
Birds fly to their houses
Careful not to lose a feather

Waiting inside
For the blizzard to end
We sit by the fire
With and acquaintaince-turned friend

The storm is over
Now for raging winds
We realize the night
Is yet to begin

A dog barks in the distance
A child lost in the wood
As people scury about
Wondering if they should

Look for the child
In the beautiful snow
Or allow Mother Nature
To understand it's own flow

Flakes fall again
This time peaceful, not deadly
Accompanied with laughter
It makes the perfect medley
