Red Balloons

by Anne   Mar 16, 2007

A little town
in a little toy shop
We bought a bag of balloons
with the money we got

Stepped out
with a smile on our face
Let the red balloons
find their own ways

Red tinted sky
filled with joy
The little kid in us
was so glad with its toy

Familiar shade
of brownish red
Is the color of love
and your face when you're sad

Now they're all gone
and we're still here
Looking at them
you bring your face more near

With this last kiss
ends our ritual
You have to go home
A big cliche, as usual

Still holding on
to one tiny balloon
Praying on it
you'll come back real soon
