American Pride

Being an American Soldier is more than a couple of words or a uniform. It goes beyond what you see. You see the uniform with the American Flag so proudly placed on the arm. You see the smiles on ones face or see the muscles under their shirt. You can see many things, but the question is, can you feel it. Can you feel the things those brave individuals feel? Do you know what its like waking up every morning knowing that you are a defender of this beautiful country of ours? To feel respect and bravery. To have confidence and discipline. Do you know the meaning of soldier. If you look "soldier" up in the dictionary you will find, "a person serving in the army, member of an army." In my eyes a soldier is so much more than that. Its the mother of an unborn child. The father you never had. Its the old man down the street with more stories to tell than you have time in the day. Being a soldier is showing respect and love. Its giving back what you've been given. A soldier is one of many. An individual with his very own spot in the national guard. Its an army of one and bravery in few. Its a choice not many are willing to make. Its the army that protects and serves. Its those few brave individuals that give everything to those who are unwilling to step up to the challenge! Its for the people who take our freedoms with open arms. Its the few that stand back and look at what they've done. Its the proud that understand and gain the feeling of knowing they did their part. there are many reasons to become an American Soldier. I myself cannot find the way to begin to explain how it feels to have this choice at hand. I don't even have the words to explain how much i love my country. Its the best place to be and you'll never find any place like it. My thoughts run deep when i think of the few Americans who believe in defending my country. the feeling i possess is unreal at times. When i hear someone speak of their experiences it touches my heart. Its amazing, the story's people tell and how good they feel to tell it. That glow in their eye and the joy behind their smile. Not many people can live their life being happy with the choices they make and the things they do. Not many people really do find true happiness. But, when you find a defender of America, you know their happy. You can see the joy they have. All Ive wanted since a little girl, was happiness. It seems that these days its a true task at hand. Ive never really believed that i was very good at anything. I had no idea what i wanted to do with my life. i just wanted to make a difference. I want to be one of the few people that can say, "I did my job job, i did what I was sent here to do!" When i close my eyes and take my last final breathes. i want to know i served my purpose. i want to know i changed someones life. i want to know that i made someones day better. i want to give back to the people thats given me so much. I want to join the Army because i want all my wishes and dreams to come true. I want to be an American Soldier so i can protect you, the land of the free, and the home of the brave. I want to be one of the few with passion in their soul, knowledge in their mind, and love in their hearts; one of the few, a 100% American Soldier!!!!!
