I'll Wait For You

by Kelsey   Mar 25, 2007

I'll wait for You

Sitting by my bedroom window
I see your truck fade away down the road
Your leaving our town to go to college
Ever since we were little
We always said that one day we would get married
I'll wait for you I told him
But you were such in a hurry to leave that day
I felt as if you didn't care about me
I'm still here
While your on your way to college
I miss the fun days we shared together
You use to sneak into my house
And you and I would go swim in the pond during the summer
Or shoot bee-bees at old soda cans
But that has seem to all fade away
Your growing up to be a lawyer
WhileI'am stuck here working at a grocery store
I miss you already and it's only been a day
I finally get your phone call one evening
And you are so excited because now you meet a new girl
When I hung up
I wondered how she looked
Was she skinny, blonde, small, tall, and blue eyed
Any of those would get a guy like him
I feel jealous now that I know there's a new girl in his life
I guess it means that I'am nothing to him anymore
So I finally stopped waiting for you
You moved on and so have I
