A soldiers love cannot be beat,
with tender thoughts, and bravery
all along, during the summer's heat,
he gave all his heart, to a girl named Amberleigh
just before he went off to war
she fears the day
that shes told he's no more
when she shees, the officers make her way
for all her 18 yrs
her song will go unsung
for she will cry all of her tears
she will break, not bend
