Don't turn out the Lights

by Carly   Mar 30, 2007

Daddy don't close the door
please leave on the light
The monsters will come out
they like to play at night
There's one in the closet
and another under my bed
They crawl on the walls
and the ceiling over my head
They have steel black claws
and long pointy teeth
They laugh when I scream
and make fun of me
Mommy doesn't believe me
she says it's my imagination
That I'm making the creatures up
and our late night conversations
But I'm not playing a game
daddy don't you even care
Don't leave with the monsters
Can't you tell that I'm scared
But you just blow me a kiss
and whisper good night
You roll your eyes playfuly
and turn off the light
