Blue Smoke

by Weeping Wolf   Apr 3, 2007

First. comes the colors.
Then, then comes the feeling.

My dangerous eyes
darker than most
a deep, blue smoke
like vapor gliding on air
sweeping over you, shiver
you know i felt you staring.

First, whiteness
i watch the sunrise
walk toward me, desired words
whispered off-hand
a smile,

Then, yellow
a gleaming happiness
i feel you every time i see the sun
but can you feel this
Blue smoke
contrast upon the whiteness
illuminated, prominent
floating like daffodils in the wind
wishing you closer, yet...
always running farther away.

Blue smoke
faint, yet so yearning
to tell you what you've already said
but when will i...when will i...
get the chance?
please don't, brush the blue smoke
away with one flick of your hand.

This was a great poem. It wasn't the best of yours that I read but it was above average. I love the use of literary devices in your poems. The metaphors are mind blowing and really give a depth to your writing. All said, it was an enjoyable read.
