Hold Me

My heart cries out
the silence overpowers
hands reach out
for someone, something
i hold myself back

my eyes probe everything
searching for what?
i don't know
the world is spinning
sucking me in with the rest

my hands reach out
but seem to claw
and grasp empty air
a question is growing
hanging over my head

my lips utter words
never the right ones
i must tell someone
what i really need to say
but i can't get it out

my ears hear others
saying those words
bittersweet memories
that kill me inside
i'll carry them till i die

my mind is shaken
the moment is near
and yet so far away
there are so many options
yet too few choices

i beg to be held
to feel your breath
across my face
to feel your hands
pulling me close

i beg you to hold me!
tell me i'm good enough
let me feel your strength
and know your heart
just hold me and call me yours
