True love is hard to find these days
But this love i found stared me in the eyes
Everything seemed so right
But he was my first love, so i didn't really know

Growing up i constantly heard my parents yell and fight
I was always afraid of love if this is what it was like
The only reason she said she stayed was for her children

My own best friend, my love, my mom
Always reminded me that love is a crazy thing
She said that there are other people in the world
And that the first person you meet isn't the only one
She always said don't make the same mistake as I

My mom knows me more than anyone else
So what she says matters to me
So i took her advice and ran....
