Her Eyes (sonnet)

by Lance W Toohey   Apr 16, 2007

I've felt the pleasures of a woman's trace
The taste of her lips have brought me to bare,
Kissed her sweet honey, have drowned in her grace
Bathed in her beauty, radiance so rare.
Feasted 'pon ambrosia, fare of the gods
Consumed grape's nectar, did Baccas incite,
Witnessed more treasures abundant than Fahds
'Been lost in passion of night's sweet invite.
But ne'er have such eyes, 'er touched me within
Held my soul deep in the depths of their gaze,
Promised such pleasure, accompanied by sin
Brought forth a flame, that did burst forth in blaze.
Her name doth remain locked within my breath,
But her eyes; my God!......I'd entertain death.

This actually isn't a true sonnet. the correct rhyme scheme would be: abba cddc effe gg
