A Broken Fairytale

by Sharna   Apr 16, 2007

After years of hard work and labor

This night would go in her favor

Family and friends will come together

To celebrate a memory that will last forever

With much excitement and hope for her upcoming night

Her preparation began to take flight

Her hair was pinned and twisted with curls

Every time she spun it would do a little twirl

Her dress was as blue as the sky

Her glass slippers had an elegant shine

Her necklace glowed around her neck

In everyoneâ??s eyes she looked perfect

Her crown glistened in the darkness of the hall

Her beauty shined in the evening for all

She felt as though she were in a dream

Floating on cloud nine it magically seemed

She danced and danced till she couldnâ??t no more

Till finally she left the dance floor

And sat down in her lovely throne

By all her precious gifts all alone

Then she glanced up and saw her prince

She smiled brilliantly ever since

He came to her and asked for a dance

The princess would not pass by this chance

She blissfully accepted the princeâ??s request

How can she refuse her intriguing guest?

As he gracefully took her hand

An unforgettable memory slowly began

They danced smoothly in the ballroom

To her a romance commenced to bloom

The dance came to an end at the stroke of midnight

And she did not want to bid farewell to her knight

But he said goodbye without a thought

She realized that her proposal wasnâ??t bought

To her he was her prince charming

But to him she was not his Cinderella, she didnâ??t fit his ring

She was heartbroken but knew the wounds would soon mend

She didnâ??t know her perfect night would come an abrupt end

Cinderella was left in world of dream thereafter

This was the story of Cinderella without the happily ever after
