Through me

by antoinette   Apr 17, 2007

Can you see the from the window I see
the dog barking strangely at the tree
the leaves falling towards me
I can see my neighbors acting so curiously
why is this normal to me
Can you open the door I have?
enjoy the heat when it rainy inside
let in my friends who always me beside
only this time my words I do not hide
Have you ever heard the heart actually beat?
there is a creature screaming that you need to meet
listen to the rhythm of the Indian drums beat
makes the creature inside stomp its feet
Have you seen the world from the basement window?
how the birds fly high only to sore real low
how the neighbors hold their heads high when I walk by
and the children on the school bus seem so fast, wanting to grow
my treasure chest is filled thoughts I want to show
But can you envision the world trough me
the dog strangely but curiously barking at me
leaves in my yard always fall before me
and my neighbors cry to me generously
can you see what I see

Your poem has life. Through you we can picture it. I liked the analogy of the heart and the drum.
