Unhappily Ever After...

by Jorge Luis   Apr 18, 2007

Once long ago in the bleak days of yore...
When the heavens cried ice, & hinted of war...
A magical queen quite true & fair...
Ended a saga drenched of despair...

See I was like many before her beginning...
striving to settle rather than winning...
But great was the creature who gave me the wings...
To rise over peasants, & all earthly kings...

She took me to valleys so far from horror
dodging the meaning of a word they call sorrow...
Navigating with kisses that lit like 10 suns...
& sweeter than armies of cinnamon buns...

Filled me with joy, filled me with beauty...
Fulfilling my void, she made this her duty...
Gave me the night, & loaned me the stars...
Surgeon of sadness she healed all my scars...

But sadly, & shortly her ecstasy faded...
Leaving me crippled!...broken!..unaided!...
Highlighting chapters of a tale once so pure...
Though no happy ending, & no easy cure...

I really love this. Reads and flows nicely. Choice of words are great. (I did however have to mentally remove the ellipses. I think it flow much better, but I assume there is a reason for them ;) ) 5/5
