Detention

by candace   Apr 18, 2007

Detention is a prison,
The desk your cell

When let to get your lunch
that’s your five minute parole

The silence in detention is
The torture

The urge to break the silence
Is an urge like no other

It is almost like you voice is
Creeping up the back of your
Throat
Attempting to slip between
your lips while you are taking
a deep breath

While suddenly realizing that
This is the reality

You got this detention for
Whatever violated rule you
Have committed

An you now wish you were
Anywhere but serving this
detention

    Cute poem.
    Just a spelling note:
"It is almost like you voice is"
"you" is meant to be "your".

But keep up the good work
