Despair

by David   Apr 20, 2007

There are things we all desire
But cannot attain
I want your love once again
But it was lost in the rain
The sky rings of a somber tune
A fresh breeze brings the scent of you
These are the things that remind me
Of how much I loved you
Yes loved is correct
I describe how you made me feel
But the feeling is gone
So I doubt it ever was for real
Now were done
It may not look it but we are
See you can't do what you once did
You can't save me from my despair

I like this. The poem was quite wonderful. I think you should expand it though. It seems like a portion of a greater poem.
I, however, enjoyed reading this. I especially was captivated by the first six lines--so beautifully written. For the most part it was like a prose poem, whereas the poem itself is rather tear-jerking on the whole.
    Loved it otherwise.

'There are things we all desire
But cannot attain" -- True enough. Interestingly though, our desires can be manifested and will be manifested in due time. We just have to wait, and not be tired by waiting. =]

    Regards.
