An Ocean Apart

by Hey Brittknee   Apr 21, 2007

You don't know the painful heartbreak
And you don't know the blackened tears
They are yet to be seen
By newly opened fears

Crying in the middle of the night
Just to be back in his arms
Just to be happy again
And stop all this self harm

Trying to make it through this
Trying to come out alive
She doesn't think she can do it
Can't you see it in her eyes

She holds his picture
Each of her tears is a memory
She wipes them away quickly
Trying to erase him from her dreams

Who's gonna be there to save her
Is she even worth it at all
Her knees begin to weaken
And to the ground she falls

No longer can she stand up
Her legs have given out
She's screaming and she's crying
HELP! Her shouts fade out

Lying there unconscious
He slowly lifts her off the ground
Kisses her cheek softly
And spins her around

"She's beautiful" he whispers
"In her own special way"
He watched her quietly
Until she woke up the next day

Lying in the bed
She quickly closes her eyes
Because seeing him again
Was a big surprise

Seeing him again
And lying in his bed
Knowing he'd rescued her
Otherwise she would be dead

She wondered softly
Would he take her back
He then whispered quietly
Yes, I would take you back

It was like he read her mind
How could he have known
That she was thinking about how much
It hurt to be alone

The awful path she'd taken
After he broke her heart
She didn't want that life anymore
Nor did she want to be an ocean apart

I guess she still loves him
And yea he still loves her
But being an ocean apart
Puts them in two separate worlds

Wishing they could be together
Talking almost every night
Because when they're together
It just feels right
