White Dove x

by ilyALOTx   Apr 25, 2007

Me and you were meant to be,
together for eternity.
Mean to last,
Build to love,
Me and you the World's white dove.
One day it was along she came,
Ruining our happy games.
Tripping me up,
Getting at us,
Destroying all of our dreams and trust.
Not sure what to do,
Not sure what to say,
I ran and ran,
Away,
Away.
You were the worst,
You knew her game,
And still you let her free untamed.
Now it's the end of you and me.
Apart from now to infinity.
Never to love,
Flying away,
The World's white dove has left her cage.
Maybe one day I'll find someone new,
But they'll never be as good as you.
Even now I treasure your smiles,
The twinkling of those huge blue eyes,
Never for me to gaze into again,
But true love will always fight till the end.
The World's white dove free at last,
When all she wants is a glimpse of her past.

[I wrote this when the guy I'm in love with told me he loved me, then suddenly changed his mind and asked out my friend. She said yes, they went out for little more than a week and now he's saying he loves me. It feels great to turn him down.]
